... And he broke it!!!

Those were the best days of my life.... Yes I can say this to refer to those days, when we used to play cricket in NGV Bangalore, two years ago. That time we were around 7-8 people staying in 3BHK flat in NGV. For software engineers there is an advantage, you get 2 days break in each week.... I just love it...

So during those days, every saturday & sunday - mornings and evenings, our mission used to be playing cricket. When I am on batting side, my team mates will not allow me to bat..and when I am on balling side everybody from opposite team want me to ball. So you can understand how good my cricket skills are. But still I used to enjoy cricket a lot.. and thats because other things that used to happen on the cricket ground.

We were around 8 people used to play cricket. So we used to divide us into two teams of 4 players each. There was a guy in our opposite team... I like to call him - Angry Young Man!!!(AYM). If somebody cheats in a match, he used to get angry. But whats cricket without cheating :)

In my team whenever somebody hits boundary, we used to come at the centre of creeze and dance. Same case when somebody from our team takes a catch or takes a wicket while fielding. And the AYMs reaction to this was unbelivable. He would be red with anger... And seeing his red face, we used to enjoy more...

One day after our cricket match, this was our conversation -
AYM - I don't want to play.
Some other friend - Okie... (seeing towards other players) we will play.
AYM - No, I will not allow you to play.
Some other friend - Why?
AYM - I don't want these four people in single team(pointing to our team).

That was funny... We used to discuss in the evening about all that happened in the match...and laugh like anything.

One day in one of our match, it was last over. It was my over and the AYM was going to face it. They just needed 2-3 runs to win the match. Now as I already told you about my balling skills, everybody knew that we are going to loose beacuse of my balling. The AYM was quite happy, as it was my balling. But to everybody surprise, I took his wicket.. It was bowled!!! Everybody was looking at me and AYM with 'ohh..' on their face. Seeing this AYM was very very angry on me.....and he hit the bat on ground and broke it..... Thanks god, he didn't hit it on my head.

I really wish that some day in future I will play cricket with my AYG best friend, with the teams divided like it was before...

When you are in office, keep your mobile on silent mode!!!

Yesterday, being Sunday I went to office to do some work. I saw another person in office. I just checked about what is he doing? And to my surprise he was pasting small small paper labels in front of each desk. On each paper label it was written that, "Please keep your mobiles on silent mode". I was just thinking about what made him do this hard work(its not really hard..but doing it on Sunday makes it difficult) on weekend. He could have asked it to some office boy. But I think he was very much angry with those people who don't think of the impact of keeping mobile on normal full volume mode and disturbing the working souls with nice, loud caller tunes.

Sometime back when I was in Denmark I was having some casual discussion with my team there during our lunch time. And suddenly somebody got a call and the ring tone disturbed us all. Then on of my Danish team mate told this funny incident.

There was some lady project manager. She used to get lot of calls and she never thought of keeping her mobile on silent mode. So each time she gets a call, her neighboring colleagues used to get angry. But who will ask her to keep it on silent mode? Whenever she was having meeting, she used to keep her mobile at her desk and used to go for meeting.
One day she went for a meeting and the mobile rang... A person sitting next to her took it. There was a jar filled with water and having some flowers in it kept on the desk. This person put the ringing mobile in that jar. Sometime later the lady came. She understood what might have happened. And she learned a lesson...
